Mixtape #005: Xaver von Treyer

Download: zSHARE | MEGAUPLOAD

Xaver Naudascher recently changed his surname to von Treyer — perhaps to avoid confusion with Christian pop singer Xavier Naidoo or Chicago Cubs player Xavier Nady.  He is the owner of Berlin-based, DFA-affiliated Supersoul Recordings, known for their releases by Moon Unit, Paul Mogg, Blackstrobe and Plastique de Rêve among others. Herr von Treyer is also a skillful producer, engineer, film score composer and of course DJ, as you’ll soon find out if you download his mixtape and/or come this Friday to Tausend. Those of you already in the know might recognize that this mix is actually a re-run (previously posted by VICE), but it’s so lovely that we felt it deserves a second run. (Besides, we have another exclusive mixtape ready for later this week, recorded by a beautifully mustached New Yorker. Check back soon!)
